About

About

From the campfires of the Scout Movement to the parade grounds of the Cadets and the rigours of Territorial Army service, Martyn’s passion for the outdoors was forged early. Over the past four decades he has pursued outdoor and adventurous activities with relentless dedication — whether navigating the remote wilderness of the UK’s uplands or leading expeditions across some of the world’s most challenging terrain. From African Savannah to equatorial jungle, he has guided groups through environments that demand both technical skill and calm under pressure. Now settled in the Peak District with his family, Martyn brings that wealth of hard-won experience into the classroom at Chesterfield College, where he inspires the next generation of armed forces and emergency services personnel, outdoor practitioners and adventurers.
